Dr.-Ing. Tobias Arndt
GAMI General Manager

Dr.-Ing. Tobias Arndt is the General Manager of GAMI. He completed his industrial engineering studies at RWTH Aachen University (Germany) with a diploma in 2012. During that time, he also received his Master of Science at Tsinghua University in Beijing. He was working as a research associate and project manager at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) and for more than four years. Dr. Arndt conducted several research and consulting projects with industry related to production, logistics, and quality optimization. In his PhD thesis, he focused on quality control strategies in global manufacturing networks. Since 2017, Dr. Arndt serves as the General Manager of GAMI, establishing fruitful Sino-German collaborations between industry and research in the field of smart manufacturing and conducting projects in the fields of Industry 4.0 Roadmap Development, Digital Shopfloor Management, Intelligent Quality Assurance as well as Smart and Scalable Automation.


Mr. Yang Shun
Director of KIT China Branch
Yang Shun is the Director of KIT China Branch and GAMI senior consultant, He studied at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, and the first Chinese Phd.Candidate in WBK Institute of Production Science. With overseas and domestic working experiences of many years in the fields of supply chain management, production management and project management, he gained extensive knowledge. He provided consulting services and professional trainings to several Fortune 500 companies, e.g. Volkswagen, Bosch, Siemens, Bosch and Siemens Home appliances, etc. Also has established an excellent reputation and won many customers’ trust and praise for the professional knowledge .

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Gisela Lanza
Head of wbk、Director of GAMI

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Gisela Lanza is member of the management board at the Institute of Production Science (wbk) of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT). She heads the Production Systems division dealing with the topics of global production strategies, production system planning, and quality assurance in research and industrial practice. In 2009 she received the Heinz Maier-Leibnitz award of the German Research Foundation (DFG) in recognition of outstanding scientific achievements after the doctorate, and was awarded in 2016 with the Federal Cross of Merit on Ribbon. She is an active member of the scientific advisory board of the German Academy of Engineering Sciences (acatech) and the national platform Industrie 4.0, as well as of the Steering Committee of the Allianz Industrie 4.0 Baden-Württemberg. In numerous basic and collaborative projects, Mrs. Lanza deals with the development of analytical methods for the identification and improvement of given weak points of a production system. The close interaction with numerous companies primarily from the automotive, mechanical and plant engineering secures the practical applicability and the industrial added value of their research work.
