SME often struggle with a Smart Manufacturing strategy for their production. The technologies and solutions in the market are complex and the needs and pain points for every production are individual. In many cases, a Start Small/Think Big/Move Fast - approach can help to accelerate the process of understanding and leveraging digital technologies for the production.
With hands-on experiences, GAMI, amtc and ruhlamat, will share three best practices of how companies got started step-by-step with Smart Manufacturing with simple solutions under the theme of “Smart Manufacturing Best Practices for SME” .
Additionally, latest technological solutions in the field of Smart Manufacturing and application cases in a real production environment will be presented. That way, possibilities on how to cope with the future challenges in manufacturing can be experienced.

Speakers:
Mr. Florian Weihard (Ruhlamat)

Florian Weihard is the CTO of ruhlamat Automation Technologies (Suzhou) and the GM of ruhlamat Smart Technologies(Suzhou)
He has over 12 years of experience in engineering. He is committed to establish a prospective, innovative and high-tech Engineering team, promoting technical innovation, and providing customers with integrated Industry 4.0 solutions. He has set up a professional digitalization department, independently developed vision software with his team and established cooperative relationships with top universities such as Tongji University for ruhlamat (Suzhou).
He was a selected candidate of Jiangsu High-Level Innovation and Entrepreneurship Talent Introduction Program and won the award of 2018 Jiangsu High-Level Innovation and Entrepreneurship High Skilled Talent.
 
Mr. Christopher Ehrmann (amtc)

Christopher Ehrmann graduated from Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) with Master’s degree in engineering. He joined KIT as Research associate from 2012, and focused on scientific research, industrial projects and PhD studies. Since 2017, he is stationed in Shanghai and works as Group Leader Industry 4.0 and Industrial Research at Advanced Manufacturing Technology Center (amtc) of Tongji University Shanghai.
 
Dr.-Ing. Tobias Arndt (GAMI)

Tobias Arndt completed his industrial engineering studies at RWTH Aachen University (Germany) with a diploma in 2012. During that time, he also received his Master of Science at the Tsinghua University in Beijing. He was working as a research associate and project manager at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) for more than four years. Dr. Arndt conducted several research and consulting projects with industry related to production, logistics, and supply chain optimization. In his PhD thesis, he focused on quality control strategies in global manufacturing networks. Since 2017, Dr. Arndt serves as the General Manager of GAMI, establishing fruitful Sino-German collaborations between industry and research in the field of smart manufacturing.
