About us

GAMI is the China arm of KIT's wbk Institute of Production Science, bringing German
production-science methods to factories in China through consulting, training and Sino-German research.

Who we are

Since 2005, the wbk Institute of Production Science at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) has run industrial and research projects in China, growing its presence steadily. Out of this work, wbk established GAMI, the Global Advanced Manufacturing Institute, and its legal entity Suzhou SILU Production Engineering Services Co., Ltd. In 2014, the KIT China Branch was founded as KIT's official representative in China, handling KIT-related business and promoting Sino-German research cooperation. Today we sit between two manufacturing cultures, combining the research depth of one of Europe's leading technical universities with hands-on experience on Chinese shop floors.
